Mary Lou Schneider - July 28, 2004

Mary Lou Schneider, 84, formerly of Minonk, died Wednesday (July 28, 2004) at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown.

She was born April 9, 1920, in Bullard, Texas, the daughter of Archie and Mattie Franklin Scritchfield. She married Edmund U. Schneider on April 9, 1945, in Tyler, Texas, where he was stationed in the Army at Camp Fannin. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 2001.

Surviving is her son, John (Terry) Schneider of Owings, Md.; two daughters, Linda (George) Cushing of Bloomington and Cynthia (Fred) Elmore of Rushville; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, one sister, and one brother.

Mrs. Schneider had been a homemaker and assisted her husband for many years in his business. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minonk and she was also an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

While living at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown she was instrumental in giving care, assistance, and encouragement to the other residents. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and she will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date at the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Minonk.

Memorials have been suggested to Heritage Manor South Activity Fund, 8306 St. Luke's Drive, Beardstown, IL 62618.
